Blurb:
Heading to a teachers’ conference hundreds of miles away from my small town should have been a nice break. Until I was propositioned by a stranger to be his wife for the next six months. And for whatever reason, I said yes.
Talon Beckett was a domineering billionaire with a steely-blue gaze that made me forget my own name. It was my excuse for agreeing to his terms…that and he agreed to play up our recent vows when we attended my ex’s wedding.
We both decided that we’d go our separate ways when our six months were up. He’d get full control of his bank account and the hotel chain that bore his mother’s maiden name, and I’d get whatever I needed in return.
When our time was coming to an end, I realized the one thing I wanted was something he had no desire to give. It was the affectionate side he’d kept hidden from everyone despite his need to say, “My Wife” when we were out in public. And as I crossed the days off the calendar, it was harder to remember that our marriage wasn’t real. Especially when we needed to sign those termination papers.
I feared I’d lose not only my new last name and job, but my heart along the way.
**This is book 3 in the Sunny Brook Farms Series. Each one can be read as a complete standalone. Always an HEA!**
Meet the Main Characters! 😍
Talon: Leading Male 🤵🤑 📈
Our CEO of Wilder Hotels has a controlling streak a mile long.
So, when he's given a matrimonial ultimatum in order to keep the hotels in his family, it doesn't take him long to find a work around.
He just never expected that work around was our Aurora Easterly.
He's got a soft side for our FMC and shows her how compatible they really are. And not just on the marriage certificate.
Rory: Leading Lady 🌷👗 🌺
She's Talon's princess, after all.
Now, what can I tell you about Rory? She's made some mistakes along the way. Ones that she hides from everyone but her dad and brother...and now Talon.
That wild side of hers comes out to play every now and then.
A teacher by trade, she has a deep love of photography, another secret she keeps from her family. As much as she loves them, she's never felt like she could be her true self in their presence.
But despite how guarded she is, there isn't anything she wouldn't do for them, and in turn, they would do anything
for her.
Excerpt:
TALON
“Take off your dress,” I snarled as I bent to remove my socks, which seemed to have grown Velcro and stuck to my legs.
“Dammit.” I continued to pull them down until finally they released and fell to the floor.
Aurora had just finished unzipping her dress. I watched as it pooled in a mass of blue at her feet. My own Venus standing before me as a siren in the ocean.
“You're beautiful,” I told her, and she glanced away, her chin tucking into her shoulder.
On the dresser stood a small lamp. Reaching over, I flicked it on, the room illuminating in a soft glow. It made Aurora's skin mimic the peach nickname I'd given her earlier. The mirror in the corner of the room held her reflection, and I stepped behind her, my body a towering presence over her. I looked almost menacing in comparison.

Favorite Quotes 😍:
"Holding out my hand, I tried to mask the nervous tremble. “I’m Rory, by the way.” His large hand reached for mine and wrapped around it with a strength I’d never experienced, but it wasn’t physical. It was a sensual connection between us I’d only ever read about in romance novels. “Talon. It’s nice to meet you, Rory.”"

"Something about Talon intrigued me. Maybe it was the mysterious air he had about him or that he looked like a man who desperately needed a hug. And if anyone was going to give it to him, it was me."
- Page 105
"But I had to rely on the fact that he said he was going to handle it all. That knowledge left me feeling like a mail- order bride. Those were some of my favorite romance books."
- Page 106
"He likely thought I drank too much, but I barely had a few sips of my single drink. No, I was drunk off him, and I was too damn tired to fight my attraction to him anymore."
- Page 193
"Asking you to be my wife was the best damn decision I ever made. It might have started off as a fake marriage, but you're stuck with me for life now, Mrs. Beckett. I'm never letting you go."
Mia Loves Reading Review: 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
I received an ARC for review. Thank You so Much, Renee!
I really enjoyed this book. It is a sweet and spicier story than I expected. Talon is a broken man who puts Rory before himself. She helps put back the pieces. Rory is a sweet girl with a wild side who wants to be seen. They complement each other well.
Rory and Talon meet at one of Talon's hotel chains, where Rory's teacher conference is held. He needs a wife to gain access to the trust fund his deceased mother set up for him, which his grandfather is withholding. Talon wants to rebuild the hotel empire because it's his family legacy. Rory is typically overlooked and tends to make bad decisions about who she marries.
Talon scopes out Rory and gives her a proposal for marriage, and she'll get 1 million if she agrees. He's got this best friend, Dean. Dean is super attractive, and I sure hope he gets his own book. In Rory's hometown, one of Talon's hotels was forgotten. It was his Mom's favorite hotel. He decides to go live with Rory while he works on that hotel. Will acting married no longer feel like acting? Yes.
This story is one I recommend reading! 🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇
